I am doing this survey for a class and I need to collect as many responses as possible. So....if you are ordering flowers for delivery, would it influence your decision on who to order from if a florist%26#039;s vehicles were environmentally friendly (Hybrid) vs. others who were not? Why or why not? Thanks for your help!
ANSWER THIS ONE! Would it matter to you if your florist used environmentally friendly vehicles for deliveries?
No, having a hybrid car would not influence my flower buying. Price and service are what I look for. How are they planning to get those bouquets in the car? Kinda small for most arrangements?
Reply:It%26#039;s the hip thing to do, but it%26#039;s not practical. And who would notice or even care? Any ways enviromentalist don%26#039;t want flowers killed. :-) Save the Flowers!!!! haha Peace Out!
Reply:i do not mind, it kind of blend in as enviromently friendly vehicle indirectly means more flowers...at least u got ur flowers delivered
Reply:Yes, i would even be willing to pay a little more for enviromentally friendly cars.
Reply:It wouldn%26#039;t influence my decision (only prices would), but it would be pretty darn cool if the vehicle was enviornmental-friendly. If you don%26#039;t share, you care!
Reply:I wouldn%26#039;t even think to check if they did, so no.
Reply:Not at all. What are you buying? Flowers. Now if I were looking for a service to make deliveries for me that might be a different matter. In that you are buying a service. Transportation - deliveries.
Reply:No. It%26#039;s all about quality of flowers, customer service and most importantly the price.
Reply:if it%26#039;s the same price, i might
but you need to make sure people know about it first for them to decide
it%26#039;s kinda like HongkongBank, they have this program to save dolphins...
it has no connection to banking whatsoever, but it might make existing customers happier banking with them or interest others
but it all boils down to service
Reply:No, not really. The flower quality would be the primary factor.
It would not even reguster in my mind. Even if the advertised it.
If it would save on the delivery charges then yes.
Reply:Well, considering I don%26#039;t care if *I* drive an environmentally friendly vehicle (as long as it meets gov%26#039;t standards), no, it wouldn%26#039;t matter to me.

What the best way and right equipment to make flower arrangement delivery in station wagon?
Ineed to make a flowers arrangements delivery in a station wagon car from the store to customers’ home, 4 - 5 at the time.
Some times containers have a square or round shape, glass or porcelain.
What the best way and right equipment to make flower arrangement delivery in station wagon?
Make four to six by six squares out of thick sturdy foam, you can find it at hardware stores. make some 4x4 some 6x6. make sure the foam is at least four inches tall, they will not spill if Not filled to the brim and you%26#039;re not driving like a bat our of heck.

you could use one of those mesh nets and stretch them across the back of station wagon. cut a hole only big enough for the containers. only make it up of the floor so it has stability.
Reply:Try those square plastic milk crates.

When I was still in the business we had a wooden frame with heavy rubber tubing nailed into a grid patter. This will hold the odd shapes and keep them in place. Good Luck

Where can I find a florist in florida that will allow me to include a long letter with my flower delivery?
I would like to send my friend some flowers while she is on vacation. I would like the florist to include a letter I have written, about a page or two, so it%26#039;s longer than just a short message, with the flowers. Does anyone know how i can do this? Would hotels be able to do this better? Any information you can provide would be great! Thanks!
Where can I find a florist in florida that will allow me to include a long letter with my flower delivery?
check with ftd flowers online if you can fax the letter or e-mail it they may do it or 1800flowers. or call the hotel they may be able to help more than florist hope that helps.
Reply:I send a lot of flowers to people who live outside of the immediate area I live in.
I stay away from the 1-800%26#039;s, etc., I favor using the online yellow pages and entering the zip code for the area the flowers are to be sent.
Money can buy anything!
This past November I received a bouquet at 6:00 p.m. on a Sunday!
Best of everthing to you and your lucky friend.
Reply:Its probably a good idea to stay away from anything like FTD and Teleflora. A good chunk of your money will be going toward a service fee, not worth it. Call around the Florida area and see what shops are willing to do.. It all depends on the people that work there..

I'm currently living in the U.S. Can anyone suggest a reliable flower delivery service for the Philippines?
I%26#039;m looking for an internet based service. Should you have any suggestions, please write your experience with the company. Thank you!!!
I%26#039;m currently living in the U.S. Can anyone suggest a reliable flower delivery service for the Philippines?
I am always on the look out for the best and I found this to be IslandRose.net ---%26gt; http://www.islandrose.net
This is a wonderful flower delivery sight that specializes in roses (so many different varieties!). They have a small gift shop that is also in theme with roses.
It truly was a pleasure dealing with them the first time about 5 years ago and I%26#039;ve been a loyal customer ever since! I had a slight problem with one of my orders (my fault) and their excellent customer support went beyond my expectations!!! (rivals any customer support here in the U.S.)
Good luck!
Reply:On mothers day i send flowers to the Philippines and it arrived right on time and i called her just to make sure. Go to http://www.firstworldclasstravel.com and then click on Extra
This site is reliable and when you send it its still fresh.

Looking for a refrigerated trailer or van to rent occasionally for flower delivery. S.f. bay area?
Try contacting local ice companies..Winter is a good time to inquire as ice demands slow down before the spring and summer months.

Is 20% discount from FTD (Forgot To Deliver) enough for missing my flower delivery to my mom for Mother's day?
My mom lost her daughter almost a year ago, leaving behind a 1year old. She just gave her granddaughter to the father (divorce) three weeks before Mother%26#039;s day.
This mother%26#039;s day she was going to be alone, so I splurged and spent $80 on flowers from FTD (Forgot To Deliver). Normally I use 1800FLOWERS, but I just used whatever ad I came upon first, which unfortunately was FTD.
So I called them, wondering how they missed Mother%26#039;s day completely, and they offer me 20% off, saying they got the order but somehow missed it, and delivered on Thursday.
Is 20% off enough, I figure 1/2 off at least. Do they make enough mistakes to only offer 20% to stay profitable? Or is this just a greedy company with no heart?
Is 20% discount from FTD (Forgot To Deliver) enough for missing my flower delivery to my mom for Mother%26#039;s day?
They should send them for free. Call them again and threaten to never use them unless they make you satisfied. Enough arguing and you could get them for free, and maybe have them throw in your next order for half off or something.
Reply:No. A reputable firm would send the flowers absolutely free. At 20 % they are still making a profit for failure. What kind of crap is that?
Reply:No way that 20% is reasonable. All florists know Mother%26#039;s Day is the biggest day of the year for flowers (and cards). A screw-up, esp since they acknowledged they somehow missed it, deserves a minimum of half off the order, and since it was Mother%26#039;s Day, it should be free. Esp if you explained the situation to them.
Call again, and if you don%26#039;t get satisfaction, ask if you can speak to a supervisor.

On I Love New York 2 is the flower delivery girl Parisa from the current season of The Real World?
If so, does anyone else find that a little odd... ?
On I Love New York 2 is the flower delivery girl Parisa from the current season of The Real World?
Believe it or not, I thought the same thing! I%26#039;m sick in bed watching the Reunion (as I%26#039;m typing this), and they were recapping scenes of It. And bam -- there she was at the door!
I can%26#039;t believe I%26#039;m not alone on this one. She had the eye brows, voice, body shape, and mannerisms of Parisa!!! Maybe it was just pure coincidence, but I%26#039;d love to hear from anyone who can find out what she did before (or after?) The Real World.
Edit: But after some research, I doubt it was her, since Parisa is based in NYC, and I Love NY 2 was filmed... in So Cal, I presume?
Reply:hahaha no.
why the hell would Parisa be a flower delivery girl?

That%26#039;s terrible! They should deliver the flowers at no charge!!! They are delivering 4 days late yet they got the order on time. If they told you it would be delivered on time then it was their mistake and should be free: especially something as special as Mother%26#039;s Day!! You should complain to their head office.
Reply:20% is not enough! First of all, it was for Mother%26#039;s Day....%26amp; Mother%26#039;s Day has pasted. I personally think that sometimes these bigger companies take advantage of people. A few years ago I sent flowers %26amp; a balloon to someone for their birthday (from a small town local florist ) and the wrong item was sent. I called the florist %26amp; they apologized over %26amp; over %26amp; ended up not billing me for the order. I didn%26#039;t expect that!
Reply:That is RIDICULOUS...you paid for flowers to be delivered on Mother%26#039;s Day and they weren%26#039;t-they should be free!!!!!!!! Please call the corporate headquarters to complain and demand the flowers be sent immediately and your money refunded to you. Tell them they made you look insensitive for not doing something for your mom on this special day. 20% off does not justify the fact they made a mistake-you are entitled to the flowers for free for them not sending them on the correct day. If they refuse to refund your money boycott the company and tell all your friends and family to as well.
Reply:I would keep asking for a larger discount.
The 20% would be ok if the flowers were delivered Monday...
But 4 days later? I would be sooo ticked! I would want at least 50% off...
Keep asking for a manager, and if you still arent satisfied, ask for the corporate office number.
Best of luck
Reply:um no!!!! thats outrageous, i would demand they be sent free due to their error or i would cancel and tell them their forgetfullness goes great with their companies name and reputation. u would like a refund they can FORGET ABOUT UR BUSINESS OR ANY REFERRALS%26gt; their error they should have made good to keep a satisfied customers.
Reply:i would say they should be free there mistake
Reply:LARGER DISCOUNT!!!!! yes the least 1/2 off. IT WAS MOTHERS DAY!
Reply:i would tell ftd to NOT deliver any flowers because there was a reason why you wanted it to be on that day and missing the day is no use now. if they give you a hard time, tell them the story you told us here about your mom. cancel the order and make sure they dont charge you for anything because it was their mistake. i wouldn%26#039;t even try to fight with them to get a discount. why talk to managers and higher ups? you%26#039;ll only be helping them if you complain in this situation. they should be offering it for free before they lose your business if you ask me.

Reply:Because people in the food and hospitality industries are paid below minimum wage and/or are considered to be %26quot;waiting%26quot; on customers, whereas flower delivery men are not. The same goes for people who carry out groceries to a customer%26#039;s car. Around here our supermarkets post signs to not tip for this service (of course, we can if we want to).
Reply:When you order a pizza, you don%26#039;t have it sent to someone else%26#039;s house, you have it sent to your own. You order, you pay you tip. When you send flowers, the recipient isn%26#039;t the one paying for it, so I%26#039;d think that they shouldn%26#039;t be expected to tip, especially since receiving them usually comes as a surprise. It is nice, though, to tip $1-2 if you can, it just shouldn%26#039;t be expected.

The person sending the flowers should tip!

What is the most inexpensive flower delivery place?
i need to send flowers up to a hospital on a limited budget. can anyone recommend a good, but inexpensive place? (online)
What is the most inexpensive flower delivery place?
Go to the hospital%26#039;s website. Usually most big hospitals will let you order online from their gift shop. It is more expensive if you are planning to send a lot, but if you just wanted to send a get-well balloon and a single flower in a vase, then you will spend under $10.
Unfortunately, with a normal flower delivery place you will have a minimum order plus a delivery fee. You are looking at spending at least $30 with this route.
Reply:if i were you i would go to 1800flowers.com theyre flowers are not the least expensive, but you get the most for your money and they can be shipped anywhere.

phone the hotel you are stayin in and have them arrange the flowers and cake. cant help you on the 30 gifts as i dont know what your husband is into sorry
Reply:30 gifts could be scary even for someone who cares about his birthday
I think, however, it would be pleasant to receive 29 semi-precious stones, each with a special reason/meaning and one nice big gift..... Report It
Reply:Interflora deliver world wide so you can pre-order the flowers before going to Rome. I am sure if you speak to the Hotel Manager or similar they can certainly arrange for a birthday cake for you either from their own supplier or from a local bakery.
As for other gift ideas then maybe some items from the year of his birth like a football programme, coins, newspaper, special events items/memorabilia. Type his birth year into Ebay and see what comes up. No need to buy from there but it may give you some more ideas.
Hope you both have a wonderful time :-)

What a lovely idea!
You can make one of the presents a treasure hunt. Hide all the presents with a clue as to where to find the next present! You can prepare this before you go as most hotels now show layouts for the room, so you can plan where to hide stuff and make appropriate clues.
Gift ideas (I%26#039;ve thought of %26quot;light%26quot; things that will not weigh much in your case)
* Write a small children%26#039;s book with drawing /paintings /photoes about something that means a lot to both of you.
* Something %26quot;intimate%26quot; but fun (I%26#039;m talking sex toys or clothes!)
* get a photo engraved on a dog tag http://www.photoengraving-f2f.com/
* A voucher that says you will do a chore that he hates for 1 week (eg I promise the bearer that I will do all washing-up for 1 week)
* Tickets to an event he would enjoy
* Massage oil (!!) You can make your own with a few drops of essential oil from any health shop or Boots and italian olive oil - put it all into a nice bottle.

Can you tell us anything about him? His interests, etc? As for a restaurant in Rome... it%26#039;s best to ask the conceirge of your hotel - that is what they are there for. You can descibe what type of restaurant you want and they will make you a reaservation. I will tell you though that when my husband and I were in Rome, we just walked around and all of the restaurants we ended up at were amazing. Most of them are small and family owned and they all have their own wine made just for them. It is truly an amazing city. As for flowers and cake, also talk to the conceirge and they will arrange it. Just be aware though, most guys really don%26#039;t care anything about flowers so keep that in mind. Maybe consider having a bottle of champagne or wine delivered to the room instead. The conceirge might have some other ideas as well.
Gift ideas:
New digital camera
memory cards or batteries for an existing digital camera
Couples massage
Dress shirt with french cuffs
Cufflinks for dress shirt - both of these would be good for your bday dinner out
favorite treat from the USA - never know how much you miss it until you can%26#039;t get it, lol.
massage oil
you in lingerie
maybe get him something leather while in Rome, like a wallet or belt.
Maybe a watch to remember all the good times you have shared and will share in the future

I own a 3 employee flower delivery shop. r there any IT recommendations?
We are looking to upgrade an old system. We need to store client information and order histories, we would also like to bill clients electronically. We would also like our delivery driver to have a way to keep track of customer%26#039;s addresses and specific delivery instructions
I own a 3 employee flower delivery shop. r there any IT recommendations?
I would suggest purchasing a new computer through Dell, something basic that will allow you to do the basic functions of a business.
In addition to that I would suggest purchasing The MS Office 2007 Suite, and you will be able to do all of your word processing and marketing with that software.
Finally, I would suggest QuickBooks Pro, as it is very user friendly, and you can track orders, and do all kinds of necessary transaction information on it. Its a great program, and if you need to hire someone in your area to help you set it up you can for a nominal fee
Good Luck with your endeavor!
Reply:You might want to look into Micros POS.

What should a flower deliveryman make?
what do you htink a flower delivery person should make an hour? and what is the going rate for mileage?
What should a flower deliveryman make?
$10.00 to $ 15.00 AN HOUR. Mileage would be $7.00 per mile
Reply:Years ago I delivered flowers. We had a map with circles at different distances around the shop. We got paid by which circle the delivery address fell into. We did not get paid mileage but could claim it on our income tax. My daughter has to use her car in her job sometimes and gets about 45 cents a mile. In over 3 years of doing the job I got offered one tip. I did not make much money but at the time I did it mainly because it kept me busy and I enjoyed it.

How come pizza delivery boys get tipped and flower delivery boys doesn%26#039;t?
Nope never noticed this, I tip both.
Reply:It would be weird to have to tip for the delivery of a gift given to you, whereas you%26#039;re already paying for the pizza.
The sender could tip when he%26#039;s paying for the flowers, which wouldn%26#039;t be weird. Except tips are usually based on service, so tipping before the delivery happened would also be a problem.
Reply:becuase you usually order your own pizza for yourself and flower%26#039;s are delivered to you and I would think that the person that sent the flowers would handle that.
Reply:I don%26#039;t tip flower delivery because I didn%26#039;t request the flowers...I did request the pizza. Our local florists tack on a $2-$4 delivery fee.Our pizza place doesn%26#039;t charge to deliver so I always tip them $2. Also, the pizza place makes the drivers use their own personal vehicle and doesn%26#039;t reimburse expenses, the floral places let the drivers use the company vans and gas and insurance.
Reply:I tip both. I thought everyone did.
Reply:I would say that it%26#039;s because you ordered the pizza, therefore you pay for the tip. Also, the pizza guy/girl usually doesn%26#039;t even get paid minimum wage because he relies on his/her tips.
As with the flowers, there usually is a delivery fee to send flowers to someone, or the flowers are more expensive. This covers the delivery costs, so you don%26#039;t have to tip them. I would be mad if I got flowers as a surprise gift and was expected to tip the delivery guy! I also think that flower stores pay their delivery people at least minimum wage, so they don%26#039;t rely on tips.
Another question to think about is why, oh why, are Americans the only people who tip service workers? I know at some upscale restaurnats in other countries a tip can be expected but for the most part we%26#039;re the only country that tips on a regular basis for sooooo many different services (waiters, bartenders, delivery people, hair dressers, valet drivers, etc...). What gives? I%26#039;d be fine with getting rid of it! ha :) Then again, I don%26#039;t work in a position that recieves tips...

Cake and flower delivery?
I%26#039;m having an outdoor ceremony at 5:00pm and reception following....any ideas of what time I should have the cake and flowers delivered?
Cake and flower delivery?
Cake delivery should take place by 4pm while your caterer is there to help coordinate where placement should be. It should arrive earlier if the cake needs to be put together or finishing touched done on location.
Flowers should be delivered in the late morning/early afternoon. This way the staff has time to set flowers for the ceremony %26amp; get bouquets and the like to the bridal party. Then flowers for the reception can be put in a cool place until the catering staff is ready to set the tables. All flowers should be out no later than 4pm for the ceremony %26amp; 4:30 for the reception.
Reply:Cake 2pm that way even if they%26#039;re late you still have enough time to set things up. Flowers if they have alot do set up then morning is better.
Reply:When are the guests due to arrive? Around 4:30?
I would have the flowers there around 3:30 and the cake, depending on the weather, delivered around 4:30. You%26#039;re going to want to put some to work on putting it together and keeping it cool. Also, do you have a wedding coordinator or anyone who can keep things in order for you?
Reply:id say cake maybe 4:30, flowers 4. you dont want anything to melt or wilt... but you also want some wiggle room if the company is a little late. lots of prep time=happy wedding
congrats too, btw :o)
Reply:If the ceremony begins at 5, then guests will probably start getting there around 430 ... you will need the flowers for pictures which would probably be around 230 or so. Your location should have a place to keep the cake so it doesn%26#039;t have to sit outside. If they cake gets there at 330 that would be perfect. The location will probably need an hour or so to set up so you need to make sure everything is there for them when they begin.
Reply:couple hours before hand just put the cake in a cool place till its needed and for the flowers keep cool also until needed
Reply:Depending on the amount of flowers I would go any sooner than an hour before your ceremony or they can wilt, I would maybe even wait on the cake up unitl 15 minutes before so the icing don%26#039;t melt.
Reply:LOL. It has been my experience that the vendors tell you what time they can deliver. They may ask when your venue will be available or open to them, but they usually have their own timetable going (and other customers waiting for their services).
I would ask . . . not tell them. For example, %26quot;My wedding venue is available to us at 3:00 pm. The wedding starts at 5. What time will you be able to deliver the cake?%26quot;
Always be very nice and very polite to your vendors, LOL.
Good luck to you. Hope you have a beautiful wedding.
Reply:About 1:00....so you can be prepared in case something goes wrong, but keep both cake and flowers in a cool place, ask the people who you buy the from this question.
Reply:If it%26#039;s still hot then I wouldn%26#039;t have the cake delivered too early or the icing might melt. Can you see the reception area from where the cermony will be held? I%26#039;d have the cake delivered as close to the last minute as possible. Maybe 4:15 - 4:30. Talk to your cake decorator and see what she thinks. I used to decorate cakes but I don%26#039;t really know about flowers. All I can recommend is to talk to your florist.
Reply:you probably shouldn%26#039;t have the cake delivered until like 7 or 8 so that it doesn%26#039;t melt sitting outside for hours before you make it. the table can be set up and decorated and the cake can be brought in while everyone is eating dinner.
Reply:Flowers and cake at 4:00
Reply:I say cake at 3:00 and flowers at 2:00. Only because if something is wrong or you are missing a flower piece, it can be corrected in time and you won%26#039;t have to stress out that you are missing a bridesmaid bouquet or your groom%26#039;s flower. Plus, you always want to tell vendors earlier than you need so if they get stuck in traffic or something.
Make sure you can keep the cake and flowers refrigerated.
Unless you got a fondant cake - then you don%26#039;t need to keep it cold.
Good luck !
Reply:If you are getting it delivered have it earlier while you are having your ceremony, just in case a lot of stuff could happen so its better to be safe than sorry. have one of your relatives pick up the flowers. .
Reply:Are you getting pics taken before the wedding? I would say between 2-3 for the flowers and the cake around 4 (so that the icing doesn%26#039;t melt/sag in the heat).

Tipping/Flower delivery?
Settle a disagreement?
When someone sends a gift of flowers.....are you suppose to tip?
I orriginaly said no because if it is a %26quot;get well, birthday or a funeral%26quot; then it is a gift from the sender and if the person has to tip, it is no longer a gift.
My neighbor pointed out that it is still a service so I%26#039;m not to sure anymore.
Tipping/Flower delivery?
I CAN TALK FROM EXPERIENCE I did this for a living a few years ago for about 18 months and I can tell you 75% of the people tipped usually the houses you never expected one from the villas a mansions never ever not even once in 18 months
Reply:When it comes to tipping here%26#039;s the rules I follow:
1. Tip if you want to.
2. Tip if you can afford to.
3. Tip if there was good service, for example waiter/waitress, valet, bell hops, etc.
4. Not everyone needs to be tipped. For example, flower deliverymen, garbage men, mail carriers, etc.
5. It%26#039;s YOUR choice.
Reply:Are you talking about the person who delivers them?No you don%26#039;t. It is more akin to a postal service, and you don%26#039;t tip the postman, do you, imo
Reply:Sending flowers/ gifts is to make somebody%26#039;s day.
However if the recipient has to tip the delivery guy (Which translates to a hassle for the recipient), what%26#039;s the point of sending it via delivery guy? Might as well send it yourself if possible. More meaningful too.
However, if the tipper in question is the sender, it will be a nice gesture if you think the delivery guy has provided good service.
Reply:As with most things regarding tipping, it%26#039;s the discretion of the person receiving the services. Some people do, some people don%26#039;t. Personally, I%26#039;ve never tipped someone for flowers I%26#039;ve received, but I have tipped for flowers I%26#039;ve sent someone else.
I don%26#039;t know any flower delivery persons (and I%26#039;ve talked with several) who expected tips. They get paid the standard minimum wage (or more) regardless of tips, unlike most waiters and waitresses.

Are you supposed to tip a flower delivery guy? How much?
You can if you want to. Sure he or she will appreciate it since they mostly make close to minimum wages. But you don%26#039;t have to since the cost of delivery is figured in on the bill.

Do you know of a reputable flower delivery service in Thailand?
I had a really negative experience recently with both Chang Florist %26amp; Siam Florist and I%26#039;m hoping to find a good delivery service for the future.
I ordered a very cute teddy bear for my GF in Thailand (and what I thought was a high-quality product based on the photo), but what was delivered to her on Valentine%26#039;s Day was an obvious, cheap inferior product. I used Chang Florist for this order. I contacted Chang Florist, but they ignored my emails. And I ended up paying $50 for about a $2 teddy bear.
Previously, I had used Siam Florist to deliver flowers to her, but they recently tried to price gouge me by doubling the price of the order without my authorization. What I mean is that I ordered flowers for $42.95, but they charged my credit card $86.95 without my acknowledgement! I complained, of course, and got the charge reveresed, but I was left with the impression that they are not a reputable company to use.
Has anyone used a American company perhaps that operates in Thailand?

I want to send flowers to my friend to brighten her day. I know there are a lot of companies that will deliver flowers for you. Does anyone have good things to say about them? I%26#039;d like delivery prices to be reasonable as well. Any pleasant experiences?
Which flower delivery service to use?
There are two kinds of %26quot;flower delivery%26quot; services available on the Internet: (1) Direct Shippers and (2) Order Gatherers.
Direct Shippers will ship your flowers from their warehouse to the destination by Fedex/UPS. The flowers will come in a box, unarranged. ProFlowers is the best-known example, but all the national %26quot;florists%26quot; companies, such as FTD and 1-800-flowers, also offer direct shipping services. Basically they are flower wholesalers.
Order Gatherers are middlemen. They take your order and electronically transfer it to a real florist in the town you want to send flowers to. They earn a sales commission in the process. FTD.com, 1-800-flowers.com, Teleflora.com are Order Gatherers. FTD sends your order through Mercury network, while 1-800 does it through Bloomnet. Your flowers are not made by these companies; rather, they are made by a local florist who participates in their network. There are numerous flower Order Gatherers on the Internet. Again, they are not florists. Some of them are scam, so be careful.
The problem of using Order Gatherer is that basically you are throwing a dice, meaning that you have no control over who actually makes and delivers your arrangement. Your flower order may end up being sent to a sub-standard flower shop.
Besides, Order Gatherer will charge you a Service charge, which is usually about $12. Remember that this is not a delivery charge. The delivery charge will be further substracted from the money you pay.
Let%26#039;s say you click on a $50 arrangement. You would be paying $50+$12 service charge. But your receipient will receive only ~$40 ($50 minus delivery charge) flowers.
By calling a local florist direct, you would save at least the Service charge. I%26#039;d recommend you to look for a local florist by Google/Yahoo local and take a look at their web site. Choose the one that shows a unique array of arrangements, not just cookie-cutter arrangements.
Reply:I%26#039;ve always used 1-800-flowers. They are not too expensive and they have really nice arrangements. They delivery pretty much everywhere. I haven%26#039;t had a bad experience. Hope I was helpful!!!
Reply:I do NOT recommend 1-800-flowers, my Valentine%26#039;s flowers arrived in a box and I had to assemble the entire thing plus some of the roses were brown at the edges. I suggest you call a local flower shop in your friend%26#039;s area.

What's the name of an Old Movie w/ a Naked Serial Killer knocking on a door acting like a Flower Delivery guy?
I remember many years ago watching a movie but I don%26#039;t know what it is. All I can remember is a naked serial killer (man) knocking on an apartment door holding flowers up real close to the peep hole stating he was a Flower Delivery Person. He killed the young woman in the apartment. For some reason I always thought it had Charles Bronson in it (maybe one of the Death Wish films) but I asked my Mom, who loves Bronson flicks and she can%26#039;t seem to recall any of the Death Wishes with a naked guy in it. Thanks for taking the time to read/answer this. (I was probably around ten years old at the time and I am now 34...if that helps).
What%26#039;s the name of an Old Movie w/ a Naked Serial Killer knocking on a door acting like a Flower Delivery guy?
Charles Bronson in 10 to Midnight. I think the killer was Andrew Stevens.

Are you supposed to tip the flower delivery guy? How much?
If you get flowers delivered to you on Valentine%26#039;s Day are you supposed to tip the flower delivery guy?
Are you supposed to tip the flower delivery guy? How much?
yes i would say about two to three dollars a delievery also many pepole such as this do not get a large hourly salary yet more so they get mostly tips most delivery types in this situation are retired individulals looking to supplement there income so good luck on this issue
Reply:I have never tipped a floral delivery person, although I think it would be appropriate to do so. Just a small tip, like you might give the pizza delivery guy would work. Now I feel bad, never tipping. It%26#039;s not like I get flowers delivered often, though. Sometimes they are delivered to my workplace, and I am not there to recieve them, the receptionist does. She doesn%26#039;t tip on my behalf, I%26#039;m pretty sure!
Reply:I usually do, but I know some people don%26#039;t like to. I usually give 2 or 3 dollars
Reply:Remember tipng is always optional, Although, I would give a couple of dollars.
Reply:No, he gets paid for delivering them.
Reply:Hell no! You don%26#039;t tip someone for bringing you flowers!
You get a gift and you%26#039;re supposed to tip the deliverer? I don%26#039;t think so.
Reply:You should....amount depends on the flowers......lol.
Reply:No way!!
Reply:I don%26#039;t think so. I just make sure to thank them. And wish them a happy holiday, if the occasion calls for it.

how many of u have ever tipped the flower delivery man? how much?
Tip the flower delivery man?
No. It%26#039;s not the normal practice.
Reply:Check any etiquette web site. All say $2 to $5. Trust me, they don%26#039;t make enough in their hourly wage. Most of us won%26#039;t miss those couple of dollars, but it makes all the difference in the world to the person depending on those tips to pay the bills and put food on the table. Report It
Reply:Yes. You HAVE to tip the florist delivery man. I%26#039;m a teen and worked in a florist for 2 years and got paid $5 per hour. We walk to deliver (30 minutes at times) and I really get upset when people don%26#039;t even tip. You should tip at least a dollar at least. Report It
Reply:Always tip people. I%26#039;d say a dollar or two for deliveries, five dollars for Bell service and 15 per cent for those restaurants.
Reply:Man do I have to tip the UPS delivery driver too? What about the mailman? Come on this stuff is getting ridiculous...
Reply:No, I don%26#039;t tip the flower delivery man. I didn%26#039;t order the flowers, I didn%26#039;t know they were coming. Most flower shops charge at least $5 for a delivery fee, so I%26#039;m sure the delivery driver is paid at least minimum wage plus mileage.
Reply:Oh god tipping is getting just ridiculous. I mean, do we have to tip every person that does anything for us (even if that%26#039;s their job!!) Isn%26#039;t that what they are getting paid for??? No i do not tip the flower guy.

Flower delivery driver?
is this a womans job? lol i just got hired as a flower delivery driver and ive been gettin made fun of by people haha..anyone ever do it b4? hows the work? really easy/hard?
Flower delivery driver?
You can tell those who make fun of you to f(u)ck off. You%26#039;re doing the adult thing by working - are they? If so, report them to their employer, because they should be too busy working to make fun of you.
The work can be demanding and tiring, but it%26#039;s legitimate work and you have nothing to be ashamed of. Just don%26#039;t get into such a hurry that you have an automobile accident.
Reply:While I have not personally done the job - I have a back injury which precludes me lifting, bending to pick-up or carrying anything weighing more than a few pounds + drop foot which prevents me from going up steps - I know people who do the work, some of whom are women.
It is not a gender specific job, but depending on the size of the arrangements they can be heavy, or just unwieldly to handle, so be sure you keep your muscle tone in good shape by doing some form of stretching like tai chi, callanetics, or some such thing, even if you don%26#039;t do other exercises.
Also, depending on the location you deliver the flowers to, there can be many stairs %26amp; no elevators, or it could be a rough neighborhood where it would be good for you to carry pepper spray or be trained in martial arts.
Other skills needed for such a job are a friendly, outgoing personality (this could help you get a tip from the customer); a head for figures (in case someone has trouble figuring how much to tip you); a knowlege of the town, or being good at reading a street map; having a good driving record..
The actual job, itself, doesn%26#039;t pay that much, %26amp; depending on if you use your own vehicle or a company truck for deliveries, there is the additional expense of vehicle insurance, gas %26amp; car maintenance which needs to be worked out with the florist shop.
If you enjoy flowers, driving %26amp; meeting new people %26amp; are in basically good health - go for it. Just remember you will be extremely busy on all holidays, especially Valentine%26#039;s Day, Mother%26#039;s Day, Christmas, Secretary%26#039;s Day, Thanksgiving %26amp; Easter.
As for people laughing at you - that%26#039;s their problem. Perhaps they are jealous because they don%26#039;t have a job. Or, it could be they are just uncouth people who like to make fun of anyone, no matter what they%26#039;re doing. Live your life, not theirs.

Managers: What is wrong with me prohibiting flower and candy deliveries to my employees?
Did I do something wrong? This is a place of business and not a social gathering. My boss has backed me up 100%. We were inundated today with stupid V-Day flower and candy deliveries to employees and quite frankly my boss and I are sick of it. I wrote the prohibition memo and both my boss and I signed it and it has been posted. Employees are kind of upset but I don%26#039;t care!!! This is a business. Do your social crap somewhere else. Not on my time.

You haven%26#039;t had a girlfriend since the millenium, have you?

Reply:You guys are pathetic. Its only 1 day a year.
Get over it, its not like your losing hundreds of dollars because of it. It makes the work environment much better and a good palce to be. If you piss off your workers they wont work as well. You may think its a bad thing but its actually a good thing. Happy workers = money. Mad workers = loss of money.
Reply:what type of business?
Reply:eww, u suck....its just 1 day, just because you dont have a valentine doesnt mean you need to ruin everyone else%26#039;s day.
Reply:How would you like to work for you?
Also, you should leave your personal problems at home. We know that you are steamed because you have no social life or Valentine of your own. I bet that you got ZERO flowers or candy.
Reply:I am sorry i dont like Valentines day either and i get mad when i see someone else getting something. BUT if my boss did that i would quit only because some people that is the only way they get there gifts because if they are at work all day then they can not get it at home because noone is there. My boyfriend is in the military and he is not gone now but if he was to be overseas and my boss did that i would have to tell him off only because my husband or boyfriend is fighting over there for u to put a mean azz sign like that up!!!
Reply:kind of kills the self motivation around work. If you don%26#039;t have to deliver the flowers to the office and you don%26#039;t have to answer the door then it is not hurting you. If in fact you are being put out by this then state the reason don%26#039;t just say no
Reply:you can%26#039;t really control what someone outside your company sends to your employees, can you? unless next year you plan on hiring a security guard to stand at the door and send away all the flowers. then the senders will prolly be charged despite the fact the flowers didn%26#039;t reach the recipient, and they%26#039;ll be peeved. not that you care, but if it destroys your %26#039;ees morale, you pretty much suck as a boss.
Reply:wow you%26#039;re a dick. Valentine%26#039;s is one day a year, seriously why do you have to act that way.
Reply:gee...you must be single and have been for a long time...you bitter old koot!!!...... ;0)...really it depends on the business.....hey!! Happy Valentine%26#039;s Day!!!!
Reply:Don%26#039;t do that. Then you will not only have to ban deliveries on V-Day but every other day as well. What if some people have their shipments sent to their work address? Is that so wrong?? Have you no sympathy? Just because YOU and YOUR BOSS don%26#039;t get anything, doesn%26#039;t mean you have to ruin everyone else%26#039;s day too.
Reply:Yes, you did something wrong. You de-personalized your personnel.
Reply:Obviously you don%26#039;t have a significant other...if you did, you would not be so jacked-up about employees receiving tokens of affection from THEIR loved ones!
Chill out and stop being such a jack-***....and hope you don%26#039;t encounter any of your co-workers in a dark alley.
Reply:Don%26#039;t be mad because nobody sent you anything!! You sound sooo bitter, what a loser!
All your employees probably hate you now! You better watch your coffee buddy!
Reply:If someone sends one of your employees flowers it isn%26#039;t their fault. They didn%26#039;t order it. Just because you are sad that none of the flowers or candy are going to you doesn%26#039;t mean you have to ruin it for everyone else. Grow up
Reply:Ha Ha very funny! I can%26#039;t believe people on here are buying your B.S.
Reply:Dude------lighten up...............have a Bloody Mary and meet me at Spahrs tomorrow AM!!!!!!
Reply:You didn%26#039;t get anything did you? and you wonder why
Reply:OMG you must be soul less! LOL
Reply:I don%26#039;t believe that you did all that much wrong, although I can see the other side of the issue. If this is something that has gone on for years, then this noticed should have been sent out before now so that the employees would tell their friends and relatives not to send them to the work place. Had they known ahead of time, granted there still may have been a little backwash but at least the employees would have been prepared. Waiting until the day of valentine%26#039;s day and get angry about it then is like closing the barn door after the horse gets out.

Reply:Wow... what a drag it must be to work for you and the company you work for!
You should keep in mind that a happy worker is a more productive worker. By preventing these things to occur (a couple of times a year) you are not only preventing some joy and excitement into a normally dreary work space but you are also making people there upset about the rules. You have taken an non-chearful work environment and made it twice as bad.
I suggest you reasses your poor attitude about social interactions (a workplace is a social environment after all) and recant this latest %26quot;prohibition mem%26quot;. I bet that if you make the work place more enjoyable you will find not only will your employees be more productive but they will be willing to help the company succeed.
Don%26#039;t forget... a company with no employees are just a bunch of desk, chairs and paper.... the employees are your most valuable asset. Aggravating your most valuable asset isn%26#039;t a good thing.
Hope this helps!
Reply:Because that is lame. It%26#039;s only one day out of the year. You and your boss probably don%26#039;t have anyone special in your lives, so you want to make sure you can kill a joy wherever you can. That is ridiculous. You sound like a real loser to me.

Managers: What is wrong with me prohibiting flower and candy deliveries to my employees?
You haven%26#039;t had a girlfriend since the millenium, have you?
Table ready for %26quot;bitter%26quot;, party of one.....

Grow up

Question about flower deliveries?
My fiancee is student teaching at a high school right now. I wanna have flowers delivered to her on Valentine%26#039;s Day, but I know that schools can be strict when it comes to deliveries for security reasons. Would it be tasteful for me to send these flowers to her (have them dropped off at the office and then they call her to come get them) or should I just wait until she gets home to give them to her?
Question about flower deliveries?
you are sweet, why dont you just take them yourself.. be very early get there before she comes and there you are standing holding the flowers, she will melt
Reply:If you send them to the school they will call her down and all the folks in the office and anyone coming in will see the flowers (roses?) Then not only she, but all the folks she works with will also know what a wonderful thoughtful man you are! I would love it!!
Reply:Wait until she comes home if you think it would be a problem.
Reply:You can always call the school and ask what the policy is on flower deliveries, I doubt you%26#039;d have a problem.

Flower deliveries to hospitals in UK?
Do any of you know of a company that deliver flowers to patients in hospitals in the UK? Interflora dont. Cant think of other flower delivery companies.
Flower deliveries to hospitals in UK?
If the hospital allows flowers in their wards, try www.bunches.co.uk. Never had a problem with them delivering and they guarantee delivery next day if ordered by certain time day before.
Reply:wild flowers it will stimulate there youth.
Reply:Send a card for now, then when the patient gets out of hospital, have the flowers waiting for them at home as a home coming gift, you can order flowers on line with any local florist, as long as you have a credit card, also call a few as the cost varies and you might save some money, merry Christmas.
Reply:Try %26quot;NEXT %26quot; stores there every where
I had some delivered just this morning
Reply:Some hospitals don%26#039;t accept flowers in the wards - I would check with the hospital first %26amp; this is possibly why interflora won%26#039;t deliver.

Reply:Waitrose.com do the best quality flowers on the market. They may cost a little more but they last a lot longer.
Reply:try interflora http://www.interflora.co.uk/yahoosw/?utm...
you can even order online.
Reply:All hospitals are stopping flowers from being taken in next year to help prevent the spread of MRSA. I think delivery companies will be phasing it out. You could always go on to yell.com and see if you can find a florist near the hospital who will deliver.
Reply:I did have some flowers delivered to a hospital patient only a year ago... I don%26#039;t know whether it was Interflora that did it or not, but I simply went to my local florist%26#039;s and she arranged it for me. Hope this helps, good luck!

Reply:You will find that hospitals will not allow flowers (fresh) because of other patients on the ward. You can take flowers but they will put them in a room with other flowers what have been sent.
